When you acknowledge your weaknesses and depend on Jesus, His unmerited favor can flow unhindered in your life.

It is Jesus, His wisdom in your life, His righteousness and His perfect redemptive work on the cross that makes you a success.  Nothing more, nothing less!  Without Jesus you have nothing to boast about, but with Jesus in your life, you can boast in Him and Him alone for every success and blessing that comes through His unmerited favor.

If you are strong, if you are wise and you are mighty then God's unmerited favor cannot flow through you.  Huh?  As we mentioned God uses the weak and humbles the strong so when you realize your weaknesses and foolishness, and depend on Jesus instead, that is when His unmerited favor can flow unhindered in your life.

The bible says that "God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble."  Beloved, God will not impose His unmerited favor on us.  Whenever we want to depend on ourselves and our wisdom, He will allow us to do so.  His unmerited favor is given to those who humbly acknowledge that they cannot succeed in their own strength and ability.  When we let go and depend on His unmerited favor, He will take over and do for us what we cannot do for ourselves!

What about fitness?
Have you seen more things than health and fitness that are not based on your strength and your will-power?  The entire industry is based on what you are lacking and what you need in order to reach an ideal that this world has set.

The truth of the matter is we can because of what we are in Him.  Therefore if you are trying to get in shape, if you are trying to have the discipline and will-power; His grace and favor cannot flow through you because you are looking at yourself for the source.  However if you struggle with your weight and your health and you acknowledge that you cannot and you are weak and you humbly ask for help, guess what happens?  The Lord helps and His unmerited favor flows freely through you.

It is like working on a car.  A mechanic cannot help you fix your car if you are trying to fix it yourself.  If you cannot find the problem with your car, you acknowledge you do not know how to fix it and you humbly ask for a mechanics help guess what happens?  Your car gets fixed!  The only difference is the Lord's grace is FREE and unyielding!

True blessings all come down to positioning and there is no better positioning than humbling yourself and acknowledging that you cannot but He can.  Simply humble yourself and depend on Him.

But of Him you are in Christ Jesus, who became for us wisdom from God - and righteousness and sanctification and redemption - that, as it is written, "He who glories, let him glory in the Lord."   --   1 Corinthians 1:30-31
