Day 91 - God Chooses The Weak To Bring Down The Mighty

In God's hands of grace, the foolish and weak things become even wiser and mightier than the wise and mighty things of the world.

God is interested in your success.  If you are not the strongest, wisest, swiftest, most knowledgeable and most skillful in this world, God can still bless you with good success when you depend on His grace.  You can rise above mediocrity through his unearned and undeserved favor.  The system of the world only rewards the strong, while those who are weak are neglected and sometimes despised.  But, in Jesus, there is hope for the weak.

God's way is completely opposite from the world's way.  Scripture says that God has chosen the weak things of the world to put to shame the things which are mighty.  When you give your weaknesses to the Lord, supernatural things happen.  When you give your weaknesses to the Lord you stop being conscious of your weaknesses and the Lord instead supplies you with his strength.  There is countless people that have given their weaknesses to the Lord only for Him to make it a strength.

Pastor Joseph Prince when he was a child had a severe stuttering problem, now he is a world renowned preacher.  He turned his stuttering over to the Lord, depended on Him and in turn the Lord blessed him with a gift of speaking.  In my opinion this is done so we may not boast of our own successes and power but give credit to Him who is our supply.  Others can look at what we were once weak in and then say, "That must be God."

It is those who are proud and who depend on their human strength that God cannot use.  So when you look at yourself and see only weaknesses, depend on God's unmerited favor and know that God can and will use you!

What about fitness?
Fitness is filled with people who are weak; people who cannot stay on their diets or stay disciplined with their fitness and health routine.  I want to challenge you not to worry about it or try and figure it out.  Turn it over to God, give him your weakness and depend on His unmerited favor to bless you.

If you try and figure it out, if you try to have enough discipline, you will certainly fail.  However if you struggle with your health and fitness and you know that you are weak, turn it over to God and I guarantee He will turn it around and make it a strength for His glory.

Why?  Because first and foremost He loves you and wants you to succeed.  Secondly, He wants to show you that you cannot but He can.  When you cannot but through you He does, it does not make you more proud, it makes you more humble.  God can work with a humble heart, but he cannot work with a proud heart.

For you see your calling, brethren, that not many wise according to the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called.  But God has chosen the foolish things of the world to put to shame the wise, and God has chosen the weak things of the world to put to shame the things which are mighty.   --   1 Corinthians 1:26-27

In God's hands of grace, the foolish and weak things become even wiser and mightier than the wise and mighty things of the world.
